28-11-2019 Our Voice Parents' Conference

Booking now open for Our Voice Parents' Conference Thursday 28th November

Our next Parents' Conference will take place on 28th November 2019 at the Dugdale Centre in Enfield, registration from 9.30, finish at 2.30

Booking for the conference is currently open - please book your place via Eventbrite

Following a successful third conference in February, we continue to listen to your feedback. You told us you would rather have a longer Q&A session and no presentations, and we have arranged the agenda accordingly. Additionally, we will have a choice of workshops, and the opportunity to book one-to-one appointments with key professionals from across different service areas.

See the attached booklet for more details including the full agenda, workshop options and booking link for the one-to-one sessions (please make sure that you book your place at the conference first).

What's Happening?

Introductions we are keeping our introductions short this time, as we know parents find our interactive sessions most valuable.

We will have a short introduction from Our Voice Chair Fazilla Amide. We are also delighted to welcome Dame Christine Lenehan, Director of the Council for Disabled Children and a prominent campaigner on disability and inclusion.

Q&A panel session with SEND Heads: we will have an extended Q&A panel session where you will have the opportunity to ask our panel any questions. The panel will include Our Voice Chair Fazilla Amide, Dame Christine Lenehan and each of the Heads of Departments responsible for SEND services in Enfield (Social Care, Short Breaks, Integrated Learning Disabilities Service, Education, Health, Educational Psychology and Emotional Well-being Service, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and Transport). This session replaces the formal updates from SEND Heads which have been a feature of our previous conferences.

Workshops: We have a choice of 4 different workshops each lasting an hour, chosen following a survey of our members.

One-to-one sessions: We will again be offering the opportunity for parents and carers to book one or more 15-minute one-to-one sessions with professionals, to allow you to discuss any specific questions and concerns regarding your child. A separate booking link for these sessions and instructions on how to book are available within the main Eventbrite booking form.

We look forward to seeing you there.
