26-03-2021 Meet the SEND Heads Q&A Panel session

Our online 'Meet the SEND Heads' Q&A panel session will be on Friday 26th March 10 am - 12 noon.

As we are unable to run our usual Meet the SEND Heads Parents' Conference event this year, we will instead be holding an online Q&A session with a panel of all the Heads of Services for children and young people (aged 0-25) with SEND in the London Borough of Enfield.

The panel includes the Heads of SEND Services, Social Care, Joint Service for Disabled Children, Education, Educational Psychology Service, Health, CAMHS, Integrated Learning Disability Service, Transport and Travel Brokers.

See our flyer for full details.

Book your place here

When booking, you will have the opportunity to submit questions in advance, book 1:1 sessions with professionals to discuss individual issues regarding your child, and have your say on what events and workshops Our Voice should run for the rest of the year.

18-03-2021 Tree of Life taster session

Our 'Tree of Life' taster session takes place on Thursday 18th March 10.30 am - 11.30 am

The 'Tree of Life' is a way of thinking about the unique skills and opportunities we have which can help us in our roles as parents of children with Special Needs and Disabilities. This taster session led by an Educational Psychologist will give parents an opportunity to look at the techniques used and focus on their own wellbeing.

Parents will have the opportunity to put themselves forward for a full support group programme if they wish to do so.

For more details see the booklet and book your place here

05-03-2021 Holding it together during a pandemic

Our online session 'Holding it together during a pandemic' takes place on Friday 5th March 10.30 - 11.30 am

The session will look at some of the challenges of experiencing lockdown with children who have additional needs.

We will be joined by a Family Therapist who will talk about children's mental health, understanding anxiety and building an emotional connection with your children, as well as looking after your own mental health.

02-03-2021 Cuppa and Chat evening

Our next evening 'Cuppa and Chat' session will be on Tuesday 2nd March 8.30 - 9.30  pm

These informal online sessions give parents and carers of children with Special Needs and Disabilities an opportunity to connect with others who may be facing similar challenges (including members of the Our Voice team), to share experiences and ask questions.

In this session we will be joined by a Children's Wellbeing Practitioner for a short relaxation exercise which you may find useful both during the day or when trying to get to sleep after a stressful day, or which you may wish to try using with your children as a calming technique.

The sessions are completely informal so don't worry if you need to arrive late, start early, or face regular interruptions from your children.

No need to book - just join us on your computer, tablet or smartphone here. If you have not used 'GoTo Meetings' before you will need to install the app first here
